Hindu Diwali Celebration at the Pentagon
Army Multimedia and Visual Information Division
Nov. 19, 2015 | 01:07:10
The Office of the Pentagon Chaplain in partnership with the Hindu community hosts the Pentagon observance of the Hindu Diwali Celebration. Diwali is the festival of lights (deep = light and avali = a row, i.e., a row of lights) that's marked by 4 days of celebration, which literally illuminates the country with its brilliance and dazzles everyone with its joy. Each of the 4 days in the festival of Diwali is separated by a different tradition, but what remains true and constant is the celebration of life, its enjoyment, and goodness.
