II MEF Information Group
June 4, 2020 | 0:32
U.S. Marines with 2d Air Naval Gunfire Liaison Company, II Marine Expeditionary Force Information Group, conduct a live-fire communication and observing exercise for controlling naval gunfire and surface fire support at Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, NC., June 4, 2020. The USS Mahan (DDG-72), an Arleigh Burke class destroyer assigned to U.S. 2d Fleet, fired its Mark 45 5-inch gun in support of 2d ANGLICO, fostering U.S. Navy-Marine Corps integration during the annual exercise. 2d ANGLICO holds annual training to call for fire from naval vessels through their organically assigned naval gunfire liaison officers. 2d ANGLICO has maintained this specialized capability since its inception in 1949 (U.S. Marine Corps video by Lance Cpl.
