Response crews working with the West Virginia Train Derailment Response Unified Command perform excavation operations to remove impacted soil around the derailment incident site, Feb. 24, 2015. Once complete, they will begin laying a new rail bed in order to rebuild the CSX railroad tracks. The Unified Command is working to ensure the surrounding environment is restored and response teams are continually conducting air, water and land monitoring.
