U.S. Army Sgt. 1st Class Michael Thomas, a behavioral health noncommissioned officer assigned to Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center at Fort Hood, Texas, discusses his teams experience while competing in the 2022 Regional Health Command-Central Best Leader Competition, at Fort Bliss, Texas, April 13, 2022.

The nine-line medical evacuation mystery event consisted of five stations, and required competitors to set up a radio, treat and transport a simulated casualty over 1,200 meters, request a medevac, react to contact, and perform memory recall.
