RAMSTEIN AIR BASE, Germany – A C-17A Globemaster from Joint Base Charleston, South Carolina prepares to depart for an aeromedical evacuation to the United States May 3, 2013. Air Mobility Command is the lead command for worldwide aeromedical evacuation. Since the beginning of Operation Iraqi Freedom March 19, 2003, aeromedical evacuation teams have conducted over 140,000 patient movements and 42,000 sorties.
