An E-11A Provides In-Flight AOR Communication
United States Air Forces Central
Feb. 17, 2018 | 2:11
A 430th Expeditionary Electronic Combat Squadron E-11A equipped with the Battlefield Airborne Communications Node payload takes off from Kandahar Airfield, Afghanistan, Feb 18. 2018. The E-11A BACN provides an aerial command and control capability, functioning like a low earth satellite and is essential given Afghanistan's mountainous terrain. The 430th EECS is the only unit in the U.S. Air Force that operates the E-11A with the BACN payload. (U.S. Air Force video by SSgt. John McRell)
