Recovery efforts continue in icy conditions
U.S. Air Force Senior Airman Christopher Eaton, assigned to the 3rd Operations Support Squadron, sets up a weather sensor at a base camp near Colony Glacier, Alaska, June 4, 2016. In November 1952, an Air Force C-124 Globemaster II crashed into nearby Mount Gannett in the Chugach Mountains killing all of the 52 people on board. Every summer since 2012, Alaskan Command and Alaska National Guard personnel support the joint effort of Operation Colony Glacier, a mission to recover human remains and remove debris.
