Rank/Name: Senior Airman Collin Cenci
Unit: 3rd Airlift Squadron
Deployed Unit/Location: Southwest Asia

Describe your job at your deployed location: My primary job here is to transport cargo and passengers throughout the U.S. Central Command area of responsibility. We support the Air Force, as well as Army, Navy and Marine Corps.

What was one of the most memorable experiences? A few months ago, we airlifted a T-Rex! Though not a real dinosaur, the machine we call the T-Rex is a 120,000 pound cargo container mover. It is used throughout the AOR to move huge shipping containers full of vital supplies for the joint warfighter.

How did your job at Dover prepare you or relate to your deployed duties?
Flying missions out of Dover are similar to what I am seeing out here only not anywhere near the same operations tempo. Dover is a busy place, but nothing compares to the workload experienced in a deployed location.

How did Dover's airlift mission affect your deployed mission and/or quality of life there? Dover's mission plays a big part in what we are doing here. Dover jets are responsible for bringing much of the cargo we see here. After Dover brings the cargo downrange, a big part of what we do is reposition assets to new locations where they are needed most. In many cases, it's Dover aircraft that hauls the cargo to the final destination, as well. Dover is vital in U.S. airlift.
